🚨 WHY YOU SHOULD NOT SCAM-BAIT ROMANCE SCAMMERS 🚨

Once you realize you’re talking to a romance scammer, it can be tempting to play along, waste their time, expose their lies, or make them angry.

Please don’t. Scam-baiting can put YOU at unnecessary risk.

🔴 1. THEY MAY RETALIATE

A scammer may already have your name, photos, phone number, email address, social media accounts, or information about your family and friends.

Provoking them can lead to harassment, threats, impersonation, fake profiles, or attempts to target people connected to you.

🔴 2. EVERY EXTRA CONVERSATION CREATES ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY

You may know they’re a scammer—but continuing the conversation still gives them opportunities to collect information, send dangerous links or files, or try a different manipulation tactic.

Once you know, disengage.

🔴 3. DON’T TEACH SCAMMERS HOW TO BECOME BETTER SCAMMERS

Avoid telling them exactly what exposed them.

When you explain:

❌ which photo you discovered was stolen

❌ which part of their story didn’t make sense

❌ which document looked fake

❌ which mistake revealed their location

❌ which phrase or behavior identified the scam

…you may be giving them information they can use to improve their next scam.

🔴 4. YOU MAY NOT BE DEALING WITH ONE PERSON

Romance fraud can involve organized operations where multiple people participate in conversations, financial transactions, fake identities, and money movement.

The person behind the account may not be the only person who has access to your information.

🔴 5. SOME PEOPLE BEHIND SCAM ACCOUNTS MAY ALSO BE VICTIMS

Some scam operations use people who have been trafficked, coerced, or forced to participate.

That doesn’t make the fraud harmless—but it is another reason not to turn the interaction into a personal battle with whoever happens to be typing.

🔴 6. SAVE THE EVIDENCE—DON’T START A CONFRONTATION

Before blocking, preserve useful information:

📌 Profile names and usernames

📌 Phone numbers and email addresses

📌 Messages and screenshots

📌 Payment instructions

📌 Bank/payment information

📌 Cryptocurrency wallet addresses

📌 Fake documents or identification they sent

📌 Links and account information

Then report the scam through the appropriate channels.

🔴 7. YOUR SAFETY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN GETTING THE LAST WORD

You don’t need to prove to a scammer that you’ve caught them.

You don’t need a confession.

You don’t need to make them angry.

And you don’t need to tell them how you discovered the truth.

DOCUMENT. REPORT. BLOCK.

Then walk away.
